Stunning historic cars took centre stage as Longleat hosted the Lombard Rally Festival during its Motor Show Weekender.
The event, which took place at the Longleat estate, transported visitors back to the “golden era” of rallying with live demonstrations and woodland rally stages set in the park grounds.
Crews from across the South West took part in proceedings across June 27 and June 28, featuring live rally demonstrations and Woodland Stages running throughout the day.
Tim Nash, head of the Lombard Rally Bath, said: “Back in the mid-1970s and 80s the Lombard RAC rally was the largest UK spring event in terms of spectators where more people came out and watched than spectated at every football league match around the UK put together.”
“Since 2020 we have taken the concept to venues around the United Kingdom running in enclosed areas such as these to give rally entrants new challenges and allow spectators more access to the cars where they can be seen in action and, between runs, can be viewed close up when drivers can be approached.”
Mr. Nash added: “Whilst we hope to continue to bring the excitement back, we are careful to organise events where rally fans can spectate safely and sensibly.”
Although this was the first Lombard Rally Festival at Longleat, the Park featured in the initial stages of the British rounds of World Lombard championships.
